LETTING HIS HAIR DOWN, DOWN, DOWN
Not that Morris has ever been SHY ( a little bit of shy
would be nice) on Sun. Nov. 30,2008 we got to see his true
colours at what can only be described as a Memorial event
at Solel Congregation for several reasons.
1) We had the pleasure of joining with our family,
friends, co-workers, scouters ( Larry) and Solelniks for
food, entertain, and to remember Aaron's caring, sharing
ways.
2) Morris's 13" long pony-tails (7) final
got chopped off (auctioned to the highest bidders) by
his brother Harold and sister-in-law Nancy.
3) Morris had his head shaved into a Mohawk (by
Aleesha and Aaron's friend Jeff) which he wore to work
for a week before shaving his head completely.
4) Morris changed into his Highland Kilt and his
almost pink? hair (we had to lighten it and re-dye it
over the next 2 days because he is just SO fussy!)
5) It was an afternoon of fun and surprises with
special thanks to everyone who came out to support Morris
and our family.
6) Most important of all, Morris's efforts raised
$4.000.00 for Aaron's Memorial Fund( Arliene and Rabbi
are discussing special guest speakers and looking at Educational
programs for Solel) As well as several donations to Princess
Margaret Hospital.
There are just so many people to thank, people who came
to help with the setting up of tables and food, people who
brought food, people who cleaned-up(some with out being
asked because that just who you are). There were some very
generous donations to the food preparations, Silversteins
Bakery in Toronto donated the buns and bread (which they
had also done for Aaron's unveiling), Costco (Miss. North)
donated the cakes and Gift certificates (used to buy drinks),
Scouter Gary who provided the enlarged photo of our Aaron,
and Daniel for the music. However the event would not have
been complete without the efforts of Kevin Shine who came
at our last minute request and stayed throughout the event
during the illness of Cheryl father Jack( May his name be
for a blessing) which truly helped to make this such a success!

So from our family to each and all of you who took part-A
GREAT BIG AARON HUG from all of us to all of you. Thank
you and we wish all of you good health, a life filled with
happiness and SHALOM (peace),
Morris, Linda, Aleesha, and always and forever Aaron
Tarek.
The fundraiser held at Solel congregation on Nov. 30, 2008
in a tribute to celebrate Aaron's life, was a huge success
in terms of both money raised and awareness, as this animated
photo gallery illustrates:

Aaron loved Solel. He loved, in a very special way, Bet
Sefer Solel. And our school loved him. He was so much a
part of Bet Sefer Solel, there each
Sunday - first as a student, then as office assistant extraordinaire!
Along with Alex Sage, he made sure our school ran smoothly.
Therefore, it is fitting, in his memory, that a fund has
been established to continue and expand the education of
our community. Last year, with the
support of his fund, both a P.D. Day for our staff as well
as an excellent presentation for our congregation by Paul
Lipzt was made possible.
This year, another P.D. Day is being planned for Sunday,
February 8, 2009, for our staff, facilitated by Rick Wortzman.
And we are also planning again
to host a presentation for the entire shul.
Aaron's contribution to our school, to our community still
continues. The programmes supported by his fund enrich us
in so many ways. A sincere thank you to the Tarek Family
and to Aaron - we miss you.
