There are many ways to get involved at Solel!

We have many programs that bring people of all ages together to enjoy each others’ company, to build lasting relationships and to make a difference in the world.

Here are just a few of the ways you can get involved:

Community Family Shabbat

Community Family Shabbat

Our families want to meet your family! About one Friday each month, we welcome Shabbat with a all-ages-friendly dinner followed by a short, musical service that’s just perfect for families with children of all ages. There are crafts, songs, story time with our own Arliene Botnick and a chance to be with your extended Jewish family in a very relaxed, playful atmosphere. It’s great for parents and kids and bubbies and zaidies too! Check our Events page to find out when our next Community Family Shabbat will take place. Dinner and fun starts at 6:15pm. Family service starts at 7:30pm.

A salad or dairy dessert is appreciated, as is a call to the office to let us know you’re coming so we’re sure to have enough food for everyone. Pasta main course is provided for a nominal fee at the door.

Women of Solel

Women of Solel

Develop new friendships and nurture old ones. Our women’s group is as diverse as the women of Solel. Our interests, ages and lifestyles vary, but we share a common commitment to supporting each other and to providing fun and educational events which support our Jewish home and the broader community. Come meet us. Sisterhood president Jessica Fairley is looking forward to welcoming you.

Tikkun Olam

Tikkun Olam

Solel members care about our community. Tikkun Olam, the “mending of the world” is at the core of what we believe. Solel is a founding congregation of FoodPath (now the Mississauga Food Bank) and Pathways Community Development, the largest non-governmental social housing provider in Peel. We’re active participants in The 905 Group of congregations leading interfaith dialog and we support many social justice projects and organizations both here and around the world. Join us in helping to make the world a better place for everybody, everywhere.

Green Team

Green Team

We care about our environment just like we care about each other. Solel’s Green Team is dedicated to restoring natural habitat around our synagogue and connecting us with nature. We’re recognized by the Credit Valley Conservation Authority for our work in greening our own sacred space.

Youth Group

MITY – Solel’s Senior Youth Group

Teens can explore their Jewish heritage while making friends and making a difference in the world. Our youth group is dynamic and innovative, and a lot of fun! Get to know other Jewish teens and work together to build community, help those in need, and learn and grow as the future leaders of our extended Jewish family.
